Deputy Natalia Guyvik does not consider that the language issue requires urgent resolution

Activist of the civil campaign "Paperwork in Belarusian!" Igor Sluchak addressed the deputies of the National Assembly, born out of Belarus, with a proposal to make a legislative initiative on amendments to the Law "On languages in the Republic of Belarus", which would allow to extend the use of the Belarusian language in official relations with officials. One of the destinations offer became a deputy from the Polotsk City District number 28 Natalia Guyvik (pictured), a former judge of the Polotsk City Court, who was born in Kirov (Russia).

Natalia Guyvik responded to an invitation: "In my opinion, your proposal today is not for the nation's most important and requires urgent resolution in the House, so I find it inappropriate at the present time, make your proposed legislative initiative" - wrote the deputy activist.

Deputy Guyvik invited the author appeals to her to collect signatures, "According to paragraph 1 of Article 99 of the Constitution the right of legislative initiative belongs also to the citizens having the right to vote, in an amount not less than 50 thousand people. Thus, you have the right to initiate legislation on their own, if you support in this 50 thousand citizens who have the right to vote."
