In Vitebsk region decreased wages

Accumulated average wage of the Vitebsk region in the last summer month amounted to 5,692,850 and in the past month fell to 18,022 rubles. Lower wages in August occurred in all regions of Belarus. Because of this, Vitebsk region finally ceased to hold the laurels of the lowest paid in the region of the country.

According to the National Statistics Committee, the nominal average monthly wage of employees of the Republic of Belarus in August 2014 amounted to 6,364,471 rubles and decreased compared to July 2014 by 1.4%, or 90,800 rubles.

Real wages (wages adjusted to the growth of consumer prices for goods and services) in January-August 2014 compared with January-August 2013 increased by 1.3% in August 2014 compared to July decreased by 2.2%.

The highest average salary in August of this year was at the workers in the activities related to computer technology - 16,388,875 rubles. High rates recorded in such economic activities as air transport - 14,072,635, the production of coke, refined petroleum and nuclear products - 12,769,754, the chemical industry - 10,975,643, financial intermediation - 10,220,571.

In August of 2014 in the construction of the average salary was 8,598.2 thousand rubles, transport and communications - 7,307.3 thousand rubles in the industry - 6,937.1 thousand rubles in agriculture and forestry - 5,217.9 thousand rubles in education - 3,867.3 thousand rubles, including teachers - 4,393.6 thousand rubles, faculty members - 5,797.3 thousand rubles.
