Vitebsk Regional Court rejects appeal of Andrey Andreev

The activist Left Party "Fair World" Andrey Andreev appealed to the regional court fine, the judge who sentenced him the October district court of Vitebsk Elena Protas for the distribution of information materials of the campaign "Tell the Truth". The case was heard Judge Irina Smolyakova. Submissions by Andrew Andrew, who claimed the right to distribute the information given to him by the Constitution - the supreme law of the Republic of Belarus, did not convince the judge, and the ruling against activist upheld.

Recall Andrey Andreev was arrested by law enforcement on August 13 while distributing them in the mailboxes of leaflets with information about the "People's Referendum" and "civil contract". A trial was held on September 6. Distributor of leaflets had been found guilty of violating Article 22.9 of the Administrative Code (violation of the law on the mass media), and subjected to a fine of two million rubles.
