In March salaries of residents of Vitebsk region began to increase

Gross average wage of Vitebsk region in the first spring month amounted to 5,035,622 per month and increased by 312,282 rubles. Previous two months salary workers area decreased in January - to 419,549 rubles in February - to 25,572 rubles. The March increase could not compensate for the decline of wages at the beginning of the year - December level of 5,168,461 ruble has not yet been reached.

According to the National Statistics Committee, the nominal average monthly wage of employees of the Republic of Belarus in March 2014 amounted to 5,753,101 rubles, and increased compared with February by 6.8% or 363.9 thousand rubles.

Real wages ( wages adjusted to the growth of consumer prices for goods and services) in January-March 2014 compared with January-March 2013 increased by 4.9% in March 2014 compared with February - 5.4%.
